Beneficiaries:
People residing in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions can benefit from the Palliative Care Program.
Scope of the Program:
To improve the quality of life of incurable patients, the beneficiary of the Program can receive both inpatient medical services and necessary (narcotic pain reliever) medications.
In the advanced form of some diseases, it is necessary for the patient to receive medication and treatment that will relieve them of pain and discomfort and improve their quality of life. A palliative care program offers such help to patients.
Transportation of hospitalized patients to an inpatient palliative care facility, if necessary, is conducted by the referral support team.
In the frames of the program, those incurable patients are provided with medicines who need narcotic painkillers at home, upon the doctor's prescription. Medicines are given free of charge, without co-payment.
Engagement in the Program and documents to be submitted:
To engage in the Program a person residing in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions should:
- Possess a personal identification number granted as result of registration; or
- Possess a neutral ID (SNID) or neutral travel document (SNTD); or
- Possess an ID Card of Georgian citizen.

Program Funding:
Funding of inpatient services for persons in need of incubation care is carried out according to the bed day, the maximum cost of which is GEL 7. Co-payment by the beneficiary is 30%. In addition, in the frames of the program, it is possible for the beneficiary to co-pay 10% - 20%, or to be fully funded.
